The HORL 3 Cruise rolling knife sharpener, suitable for both Western and Japanese knives, restores kitchen knives to optimal sharpness using a clever two-part system that guarantees speed and precision.
HORL 3 Cruise Sharpener
Made in Germany, the HORL 3 Cruise knife sharpener is efficient, precise, and built to last a lifetime. Using it is simple: Attach a knife, blade side up, to the magnetic angle support, and roll the sharpener against the entire length of the blade a few times to sharpen and hone the edge. Repeat for the other side, professional-grade results, with very little effort.
This upgrade from the HORL 2 Cruise has an enhanced black diamond sharpening disc, which provides significantly faster and more uniform results; along with a durable stainless steel honing disc. The magnets have 70% more grip, so even small paring knives can stay securely in place with minimal movement. The magnetic angle support now comes with the extra option of a 15° angle for Japanese knives, in addition to the 20° angle for Western knives. HORL 3 Cruise, which is made from recycled plastic found by the sea.
HORL 3 sharpening and honing stones are permanently fitted, and cannot be swapped for higher- or lower-grit stones. As the honing disc is made from steel rather than ceramic, we do not recommend it for premium Japanese knives that have a Rockwell hardness of above 60, such as Kai Shun, Miyabi or Blenheim Forge. (For rolling sharpeners that are suitable for all knives, with options for interchangeable discs, see the HORL 3 or HORL 3 Pro.)
